In case there is an issue with the server address, it might be a good idea to purge your cache and flush the DNS using IPCONFIG.

Or just reboot the PC, which is what I did eventually.

I cant believe I mucked about all day without trying the no.1 helpdesk reply. Turn it off and back on again.

I tried clearing the cache yesterday, no joy. As I can't get access from home, work or mobile I can't see that DNS will help. I have also restarted the PC!

It is a weird one, in that I had a forwarding instruction set up to forward from one @sky.com address to the main one I use. The rarely used one works, both send and receive including to mobile, tablet etc, and e mails to that one are still being forwarded to the unworking address and show up on the old google platform as new messages. Any e mails sent to the main account directly bounce back saying that the account doesn't exist.

How are you seeing the emails on the old google platform?
If you are logging in via the goggle sign in then perhaps this means you haven't been transferred to the new platform. You did accept the T&C's on that account?

I had a direct link to the web mail page set up, and it still works, indeed the forwarded e mails still hit it. What doesn't is new e mails! How it works I don't know, but the last programming I did was in basic so about 30 years ago! Yes I did accept the t & C's, indeed several times.

Yahoo have heavy advertising in their web mail client.

This new email system is so good it sends the email from Sky re coming programs etc into the spam folder.

I think I will bin sky emails and just use my new outlook.com email.

      regards

      David

Re: This Yahoo Mail is Total Crap

I don't use webmail much, preferring to download onto my pc using Pegasus. However, I note there is a 'spam' folder in my webmail - never anything it it tho'. All the dross, which Google very successfully filtered out, now turns up in my mailbox on my pc. Dreadful mess - whoever is overseeing this changeover needs to be fired.
