Re: Sky Yahoo email IMAP fiasco!!!

Set up correctly it cannot fail. You have to disable IMAP on the Sky account and enable POP then save. You then set up mail fetcher from settings within Google on the account where you want your emails to go to. Do make sure that you only have your Sky account on the one device e.g. Desktop before trying this. If you still have Sky accounts set up on other devices they will interfere with the POP setting and it won't work.

As Yahoo mail doesn't offer either of these facilities, it's a bit na´ve of Sky to apparently assume everything will be hunky-dory in April provided everyone signs on the dotted line. I won't move to Gmail or another that supports IMAP and picking up email from other accounts quite yet as this is a bit of a hassle; I'll wait to see if Sky see the errors of their ways!

I was unable to change to pop as Sky wanted but found everything working as normal.

IMAP working fine here too on Windows 8 PC with the app from the modern UI. I touched nothing and all appears to be well so far .

Re: Sky Yahoo email IMAP fiasco!!!

Looks like the transfer has gone ahead, 28 spam emails today, can't remember when I last saw one with Gmail. The biggest problem is it is putting 'good' mail in its junk folder, including mail from this site. So I would advise everyone to check their online web page to see if any important mail has been put in the junk folder.
