I currently access all my mail accounts including Sky through Windows Live Mail. Presumably IMAP settings will not work with this either?

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

I came across this when looking for a solution for Thunderbird-
How to set up IMAP on Yahoo! Mail

      I also found this -
      https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_...mail_free_imap

So it seems it will work but is not supported by Yahoo.

I don't need them to support it. I just need imap to work in a way that I can sync my email on my PC and my mobile. If I delete an email on my phone, it is deleted on the PC and vice versa.

Possibly you will be OK, but when Sky is thrown into the mix, who knows what will happen?

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

I have been very happy with the gmail/Sky email offering to date. Fortunately I have identical email addresses with Google albeit with the @gmail at the end so I will start using those from today. It's just a nuisance having to notify everyone e.g. banks online traders etc.

So much for keeping your Sky email account for life eh?

Absolutly, we really need an official statement wether IMAP will work , their FAQ is so unclear. The worrying thing is who ever has made this decision obviously has no idea how a lot of people get their emails!
I havef started to set up gmail accounts, I don't like it, Google want all your information, so they can chuck more ad's at you. I have a domain name but I started using the Sky emails for shopping etc it's such a pain to change them all.
Sky really have lost the plot..

They're transferring mailbox contents across and it's accessible via the web portal so they've kept up the minimum end of their bargain.

I don't like the Yahoo! offering as regards IMAP support, but Sky never specifically mentioned it that I can recall.

They do say if you are using IMAP on your PC you have to change to POP.

      POP goes the weasel.

      Weasel: Definition: —v.i.
      • to evade an obligation, duty, or the like; renege (often fol. by out): That's one invitation I'd like to weasel out of.
      • to use weasel words; be ambiguous; mislead: Upon cross-examination the witness began to weasel.
