The Yahoo SMTP server seems to work fine using no SSL on ports 25 and 587 or with SSL on 465.

Dave the SKY recommended setting are Port 465 SSL so if you would like to set it to the recommended settings then on the advanced tab change "outgoing server (SMTP)" to 465 and the "use the following type of encrypted connection" to SSL

I'm a long way from Liverpool but the offer is much appreciated.

I would recommend 465/995 for POP3, particularly for Laptops.

Sky used to block the other ports for Yahoo! and if you are visiting an Internet Café then it would be a way to ensure that things worked first time.

      Moleman,
I have changed the port to 465 SSL as recommended, as per attachment.
Checked sending and recieving e mails, and both still work.
      Thanks
      Dave

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

      Hi,
Back in April, Moleman helped me with e mail settings to retain my old ****.bulldoghome.com e mail address. (see pages 17 & 18)

Unfortunately, following a recent update to the bulldog e mail server, I am now unable to send e mails, I am still recieving them, but unable to send any.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
I have attached my current settings, error message and bulldog pdf.
      Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

      Hi again Dave.
Despite the changes at bulldog there should have been no change to your settings.
You still send via the Sky/Yahoo SMTP server so on the first page of settings the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" should still be smtp.tools.sky.com.

      Hi Moleman,
Good to see you around, and once again you have fixed it.
Somehow my settings got messed up and I missed resetting the outgoing mail server (SMTP) bit.
      Thanks again!

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

Hi, hoping for some help again.
Yesterday I did a sync on my various apple devices and now I seem to be only getting the mail to the account originally allocated to me by sky. The second account I created years ago does not seem to be receiving mail. Also not coming in to my lap top. Can a helpful soul remind me how to check my settings for incoming / outgoing mail for sky/ yahoo. It is ages since I last set up and I have forgotten what to do step by stem. A link would be great as I am finding difficulty in finding one.
      Many thanks.

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

Sky recently changed their email system for clients and this has caused a lot of problems.

The changes require you to use the SSL settings and ports, along with verifying your login details when sending emails.

Could I suggest that you recheck all your email account settings first to see if this resolves your issue:

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

My apologies if I've missed the answers to this somewhere in this long thread.

I'm coming across to Sky Fibre from O2 and it's due to go live on Thursday 23rd and here are my questions.

I have my own domain and have, I believe, found half the answer and that is email addresses that need to use YahooMail as an outbound relay in YM need an Add account so that it is recognised as a valid email address and is let out with the correct originating, rather than Sky, email address in the From field.

As I have quite a few addresses associated with my domain, I would like to know please whether each and every email address has to be an Add account in YM or is it possible to use wild card addressing?

A fictitious example - fred@qwert.com ted@qwert.com alice@qwert.com bacon@qwert.com etc or can I just make one Add account and use *@qwert.com?

Would some kind soul please put me out of my misery with regard to exactly how I need to deal with this?

With grateful thanks for your help.
