That could explain why Sky Go doesn't work on a Win 8 PC then.

Some more useful information for you all:

Sky Help Forum - Sky Yahoo! Mail
      Hi Everyone,
With Sky Yahoo! Mail just 2 weeks away, we wanted to give you some information on the features you can expect to see.

      • Unlimited storage – with Sky Yahoo! Mail, you’ll be able to store as many email, photos or videos as you like.
      • Folders – We know some of you like using folders to organise your mailbox and you can continue doing that after the change. This will be easy to do as you’ll be able to simply drag and drop messages into the folders you want to move them to.
      • Sorting of emails – If you’ve got many emails, it can be difficult to find the one you’re looking for. With the ability to sort your messaging by date, subject, sender, whether they include attachments and if they’re read/unread or starred, you’ll be able to quickly locate and the view the email you wanted. Of course, you can also use the mail search function to search for a particular email
      • Instant photos and videos viewing – Sky Yahoo! Mail will automatically detect any photos or videos you have in your messages so you can view them right from your inbox in a slideshow.
      • Themes – To change your mailbox presentation, you’ll also find a gallery of themes to customise the way it looks

Of course, you’ll still find the same features you enjoy today in Sky Email, such as Calendar, Chat, contacts as well as protection from spam.

If you find you need help with any of the new features on launch day, we’ll have articles ready for you our Help Centre. Also, keep visiting our dedicated support page for more information about the switchover.

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

I have non-Sky email addresses that route to my Sky one and, therefore, use Bigthinka.net as my smtp to send my emails to avoid my Sky email address being shown on all of my sent emails.

Will I need to do this with Yahoo mail as well?

      Yes. This is standard practise.

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

Hi. I created a new account in Outlook 2010 and with inputting all the corresponding information I successfully set it up. I then copied my e-mails from the google account in to the new 'Yahoo' account and then deleted the Google one. But every time I go to download e-mail it takes ages as it won't stop downloading 200-300 e-mails - even though they don't exist on the bl***y e-mail account! And I then cannot download the new e-mail that has arrived - and again - is visible on the web-based site.

I hope that is pretty clear. But if someone can help me, please, I would be most grateful.

      Thanks.

P.S. And I have made sure pop3 is enabled through the settings in web-based sky mail

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

      Hi,

Apologies if the answer I need is already somewhere but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for...

I have been using smtp.tools.sky.com as my SMTP server for my non-Sky email address with some SSL/password trickery set up and it was working fine on Outlook and my phone. But sending emails stopped working yesterday with the switch to Yahoo (I presume).

Can someone point me to the settings I need to continue using it in this way please? Maybe it's a different port or different SMTP server? It was using port 587. I tried changing this to 465 as per the instructions but this didn't work.

      Thanks,

      J

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

The yahoo change shouldn't have affected the SMTP.
The correct setting as you say is 465 with SSL. The thing people often get wrong it having "Log on using secure password authentication (SPA)" set. This should be unticked.

      Re: Sky Yahoo! Mail FAQ

I have 2 x sky accounts - the official one that sky gave me originally and a second one which I use for most things. They were linked with the old Google set up but now seem separated. I have tried to link them up but don't know what to put in the POP Server box.

I also have a number of email folders some of which appear in one account and some old ones appear in the other.

I also have a new iphone and ipad and am having problems there as well but I'd like to sort out the PC first.

      Can anyone help please?
