Sky email and the Galaxy S3

      Morning all!

Anyone here with an S3 who has their Sky email working correctly? My Dad has one and it refuses his login details. I'm not about to look at it myself so I was wondering if anyone here has got it working?

Works fine for me, I'm on a Vodafone non-branded handset, using pop3 and the standard settings

Re: Sky email and the Galaxy S3

Is it possible for sky emails to be ssent to both a mobile and also a PC (outlook)?
      Or is it one only?

I would like to be able to receive same emails on both so I can check email whilst at work on my galaxy but then be able to download them again via my PC.
      Hope that makes sense.

I suspect if I download my emails on one device then they are deleted from the server so won't be available for download to my PC.

Yes perfectly possible, just set it up as normal. Additionally if you choose to set it up as an IMAP rather than POP3 it will sync the account across all the devices so that if you read an email on one device it will register it as read on all devices. Just remember to enable POP3/IMAP in your sky webmail account in the settings area.

There is a sticky thread in the email area of the forum that can talk you through the whole process

Forgot to say in the settings area you can also opt to keep a copy of the email in your web mail account so will not delete off server

Re: Sky email and the Galaxy S3

You can also set-up Sky email as Exchange push which works the same way as IMAP syncing across devices but also pushes email as soon as it arrives. I have my Sky email setup as exchange push on my iPhone & iPad and IMAP on my desktop without any issues. Mail syncs across all 3 devices.

I don't use POP as mail ends up getting out of sync across multiple devices with POP.

This sounds like what I want.

Could you direct me to where I may find instructions to do this?

I have an Android samsung galaxy II which must be capable of this.

I assume even if the PC is not on 24/7, the emails will still be available on there via Outlook even if I have already downloaded a read them on my SGSII?

If you want to have access from more then one device, then IMAP is probably the best choice.
Sky Email | Configure POP3 or IMAP with another email program

You are probably better to select Keep a copy on the Server in the drop down box.
