      Using Sky with MS Exchange at home.

      Hello,

      Hope someone can help as I'm tearing my hair out with this.

      I work from home and use an MS Exchange. I am receiving an error message back when sending some e-mails, as follows:-

      Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject: FW: [email subject header]
      Sent: 15/12/2011 15:01

      The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      [recipient's e-mail address] on 15/12/2011 15:01
      There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
      <FRANCIS.rogersandco.local #5.5.0 smtp;550 DY-001 (BAY0-PAMC1-F6) Unfortunately, messages from 2.222.70.154 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider. You can tell them that Hotmail does not relay dynamically-assigned IP ranges. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.>

      I am not very technical myself, and unfortunately I am not getting the help and support I need from Sky. When I ring them, they either don't know what I am talking about or refer me to different sections of their Help and Support site.

      The latest operator told me to go here:-

      http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/broadband/email-and-tools/setting-up-mail-fetcher/

      I am sorry, I just do not understand any of this. All I want to do is to be able to send e-mails. Can anyone provide me with some clear advice on:-

      - why some of my e-mails are being blocked;
      - what steps need to be taken to resolve it.

      Thanks to anyone who can help.

      It sounds as though that you haven't told the sky system that you want to send other non sky.com related emails via their server.

      If you do as posted on the links all your emails will go to one place (the sky.com inbox) and you will be able to reply to them from there. The only slight downside is that they will probably have something like "send on behalf of sky.com" in the receivers from box.
