Final Reminder - Notice Of Cancellation
Tricky one this!
I've recieved a message, adressed to my Mother, notifying me of the cancellation of the account. My email was set up as an alias to her address. Obviously I want to keep my email address as I've been using it for some years now.
Here's the problem: I've moved house, and so have my parents! We are both still Sky customers, just at different locations. It would be easy enough to solve if only she logged into her account online, but all details and passwords etc have been lost of forgotten long ago.
I really want to keep my existing address, but foresee that I may lose it if her acccount is shut down, and I'm sure she wants to keep her address too.
I'd be happy enough to simply transfer my email address to our new account, but that still doesn't help my poor old Mom!
Any ideas what I can do?

Re: Final Reminder - Notice Of Cancellation
Sky email addresses are Web based and are for life. Provided the addresses are used they will stay 'live' as long as you want them.
I am not sure what you mean about your mum, is her account being cancelled for non payment or something like that?

Then all that needs doing is that she needs to reset them which can be here:

Re: Final Reminder - Notice Of Cancellation
Thanks for the replies.
This is what was sent:
You may remember we wrote to you a few weeks ago as you hadn't signed into your Sky Email account for more than five months. Unfortunately, as you didn't sign in after that message, access to your Sky Email, Calendar and Chat services has been suspended. Don't worry though, we're writing again to remind you that you can still re-activate it by signing in within the next 2 weeks. After this, access will be de-activated and deleted in-line with your Sky Tools contract.
For some reason, she cannot log in to her account, because she has (a) forgotten the password, and (b) when trying to recover, it does not recognise her username!
She is still getting her emails via Mozilla Thunderbird though!

Re: Final Reminder - Notice Of Cancellation
Most free email account providers (i.e. Yahoo, MSN, Google & many more) request that you log in at least once a month, sometimes once every 3 months). Even if you just send a simple 'test' email from one account to another periodically, this should be enough.
If you have lost the password, then you will need to visit the website and go through the process to have it reset. In this instance you may need to answer some personal questions that you previously set up or have an email sent to another account.
