Using POP on mobile or multiple devices

I'm having problems with receiving my Sky emails on both my laptop and computer. Currently due to the problem, I have had to resort to only opening my emails on the computer so they are all in 1 place.

I've literally gone through every setting found in the following topic ...

Sky User - New Sky Email Tips & Solutions

When I set my account username to 'recent:username@sky.com' (obviously replacing the word username with mine) I get a box coming up telling me invalid login and to correct either the username and/or password. Removing the 'recent:' allows me to receive my emails.

I'm using Windows Live Mail on both devices. Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Using POP on mobile or multiple devices

If you want to download email to more than one device, then you would be better using IMAP, not POP. If you go to the Web mail page http://mail.tools.sky.com/ and click the Settings link then the Forwarding link, click Disable POP and Enable IMAP and go on from there.

Silly question but why are you adding this word on the front of your email address because it seems as if this is the problem in that the system is not recognising it.

This is given in the Tips link, but I agree it does seem to be causing a problem. The Tips are about 4 years old and it is possible this may have worked with the old email system.
