Sky email/broadband and hotmail/yahoo/google accounts
Hi, I have my microsoft outlook set up to send and receive emails from my website account and I have sky broadband. I have previously been able to send to these types of addresses as I have to send order proofs to customers but just today it has returned every single email saying that those addresses are on skys blocked list, any ideas, has this just changed?
thanks in advance
Kerry

Re: Sky email/broadband and hotmail/yahoo/google accounts
Check you settings, I don't have a Google account, but my Yahoo & Hotmail accounts work just fine using Windows Live Mail.
For the Yahoo account:
Mail server: POP3
Incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Server DOES require Authentication (username is ID (without @yahoo.??))
Outgoing Port: 587 (not SSL)
Incoming Port: 995 (SSL on)
These settings for Yahoo have worked for me across a variety of different BB connections, and still work today.
The Hotmail settings were the default for Windows Live Mail for Hotmail accounts. Again they work across several BB connections, not just Sky's.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.
