Can you explain a little more as to how you are connecting? Do you use separate logins on the laptop or or you trying to use the same copy of outlook with different accounts?

The error you are getting suggests the smtp server address is wrong. If it was another setup error I would expect a response, even if its a rejection.

Re: can't send email via outlookexpress

I am having a similar problem, since yesterday.
I use The Bat email programme when trying to send from my sky address I get this error message:

The server didn't provide a root certificate during the session, and there is no corresponding root certificate in your address book.

This connection may not be secure, please contact your server administrator.

there is a botton to "send anyway".

I have checked on two computers and have the same problem on both, you are only seeing this on one so maybe this is not your problem but thought I would mention it.
I have two Yahoo accounts and not having any problems with them, they use the same smtp server setting as Sky so I assume this is a sky problem !!

Does anyone know where to get the certificates for Sky please.

      Jo

Have you enabled POP control for the second account on the Sky email page?

I have two Sky email accounts working successfully on two different Win XP computers with Outlook express. Each can send/receive from both accounts in their own right.

One is a desktop, the other is a laptop. The settings are made so that I can either connect via BB at home, 3G dongle or on someone else's BB connection, this way should I be elsewhere, then they will still work.

The account settings are as follows:

      General tab:
      Name: my name
      E-mail address: ####@sky.com
      Include this acc. is ticked

      Servers tab:
My incoming server is a: POP3
      Incoming mail (POP3): pop.tools.sky.com
      Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.tools.sky.com
      Account name: ####@sky.com
      Password: *password*
      Remember Password box is ticked
My server requires authentication is ticked
      Outgoing Mail Server settings
'Log on using' radial is selected
      Account name: ####@sky.com
      Password: *password*
      Remember password box is ticked

Alternatively, select the 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' radial.

      Connect tab:
      Unticked - leave alone

      Security tab:

      Certificate: blank
      Algorithm: 3DES

      Advanced tab:
      Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is ticked
      Incoming mail (POP3): 995
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is ticked
      Delivery:
Leave a copy of messages on server is ticked on my Laptop, unticked on my Desktop.

I trust this helps. Don't forget to check the settings for both accounts on-line. If you don't enable POP3, then none of this will work.
