Setting Up Sky Email On iPhone

Hi there. What it is I want to set up my iPhone with my sky email account through mircosoft exchange which will allow me to receive instant email notification without having to manually going into my phone. But what it is I need to know the sky SERVER name. I contacted sky and they said it was ' imap.tools.sky.com' but that still didn't work. I've manage to setup my hotmail account straight away this way. Any ideas?

Have you enabled pop or imap via your sky.com webmail account firstly?

If you have enabled pop via sky.com webmail settings, then it is 'pop.tools.sky.com'; if you have enabled imap, then it is indeed imap.tools.sky.com'.

Yeap I've just checked and IMAP is enabled

The server name is imap.tools.sky.com, so something isn't right. I'm not familiar with setting up sky.com e-mails via iPhones, but does it ask for port numbers and such? Fire up all the settings that you've entered and we'll see if they're all correct.

This is all the info it requires on the iphone, well it worked when setting up my hotmail, so I'm at a loss.

Followed it to a 'T' still no joy. I hate when this happens. Any can bet your bottom dollar that it's something ridiculous why I'm unable to set it up.

There are literally only a few steps to exhaust troubleshooting sending/receiving via an e-mail client or iPhone:

Ensuring IMAP is enabled via sky.com webmail settings - DONE.
Ensuring the settings are correct on the iPhone mail set-up - DONE.

The last two things that you can try are:

1. Open a browser and go to www.sky.com/unlock. Enter the username/password/captcha image and ensure that the captcha was successfully unlocked. Then, see if you have any joy via the iPhone.

2. If the above doesn't work, then call Sky on 08442410515 and explain that you've done absolutely everything you can on your end and can they sync your username/password.
