Outlook error

Hi,

I have set up my sky user mail on microsoft outlook 2007 on my desktop with no problems sending and receiving - I have now added outlook to my laptop which is used wirelessly with sky and set up - I can receive with no problems but when I try and send I get this message

553 We do not relay without RFC2554 authentication

can anyone help.

What Smtp settings are you using as that is saying you are not using the correct setup?

Those are not the Sky email settings, those are for if you are using our SMTP server. To use our email server, you would have had to apply for it, have you done so, or is just a case of putting the wrong details in for the SMTP server.

yes I applied for it for my desktop I just thought I needed to transfer the same info to my laptop - I receive o.k but just cannot send - is that not the case?

You can't mirror an account on multiple PCs unless using IMAP. Sending shouldn't be an issue. Have you tried the Sky SMTP server just to make sure it works?

I don't know what the settings are for sky - do you know what I need to put in - I know when I first got outlook I couldn't send from my website email accounts which is why i registered with sky user mail - should I just ask for registration again?

There is no need to apply again as the skyuser SMTP server will work from any PC.

Make sure you have unticked the box thet says "use same settings for sending" and that you are using your skyuser name as the login and that the password is the one you gave when you registered for the SMTP server and not the one used to login to the forum.

If you have forgotton the password then a PM to Newsreader or Satdish asking for a reminder should do the trick.

Thank you all for your help - i was missing going into extra settings and adding my password and username there - Doh!!
