PSW in MySky different from mailprogram

      Hi,

I've contacted Sky several times now, but they don't seem to understand the problem.

I wanted to change my Email PSW, so went into MySky and did "reset PSW".
Setup a new PSW, which works to get into MySky, but for Outlook I still need the Old PSW, so actually nothing changed to my Email PSW.

      At the moment it is as followed;

In MySky my PSW is f.i "xxxxxxxxx"
To access my mail through Outlook, my PSW is f.i. "xxxxxxxxxxx"

Why can't I get my POP & SMTP psw also set to "xxxxxx" ????

      All help is welcome.

      Michael

Don't do it through MySky. Just go to sky, log out if you are logged in, click on sign in, click on forgotten my password, go through the password reset here as it will reset all passwords on all servers at the same time.

      Hi Paul,

      Thanks for your quick response.
Thats exactly what I've been doing, it only resets my MySky psw.
BTW, your procedure, after clicking "fogotten psw", also takes you to MySky.
Also tried, after forgoten PSW, the "can't acces mail anymore" option, comes with secret question, and then enter new psw.

      All doesn't work

My Email psw for Outlook stays the same, only MySky changes

Sky might be able to do it.

It may need to go to the email team if the servers are out of alignment, the forgotten my password link is supposed to reset all passwords across all the servers at the same time. When it fails it's normally one server out of the lot that screws up.... normally the email server.

Re: PSW in MySky different from mailprogram

Got the same problem trying to setup pop3 or imap on my Mother in Laws new laptop. Reset the password and webmail works but outlook express does not.

I rang sky and they say when you reset the password it can take up to 24 hours for it to synchronise on the pop3/imap mailserver? I think it was a fob off but will leave it until tomorrow before ringing them back.

If not then I'll just set up a GMail account as I know IMAP works there, I want a simple e-mail program for the Mother In Law as this is her first go on a PC / Laptop and webmail is just a little too messy.
Post Sky DLM and after some cowboy contracters and BT ruined my line quality (was 6mb pre DLM):
