Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007

      Hi,

I am the main account holder and my daughter has an e-mail address on my account. Recently added to her PC to home network and want to access e-mail using Outlook 2007. She had forgotten her Sky e-mail password, which she reset, however she cannot now set up her account in Outlook. Keeps getting error message 0x800ccc90 saying her log in has been rejected.
Have checked her "pop" settings on Sky e-mail & they are ok.
Tried several times now, using the tutorial on this site, and keep getting same or similar error message.

She is using her full email address as the username isn't she ?

The settings for Outlook 2002 are in this thread but they should be the same/similar:

She had forgotten her Sky e-mail password, which she reset,
I think this is the root of the problem. Can she get into her mail through the Web mail? (MySky, Login, Email and Tools, Email) Tell her to try to log into the account using the new password. If she gets in, set up the account again and try it. If she can't get into the Webmail, the username or password are wrong and will have to be reset again.

Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007

Thanks to both Alan B and Isitme. Yes she can log in to her e-mails via Sky. I have tried all the set up advice on both Sky and this site but neither seems to work. I wondered if it had anything to with her trying to access from a computer recently added to home network. The network is wireless.
I have also tried both Outlook 2007 and Outlook Express and get the same problem.

Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007

As Alan suggested earlier, get her to check that she is using the full email address, ie dadada@sky.com for the username in the set up. This is one of the most common reasons for failure to send.

Yes we have already checked that. Did e-mail Sky but they have not yet replied.

Sky email is not as straightforward as some!

      Try these settings :-
      Incoming Server - pop.tools.sky.com
      User Name - username@sky.com
      Outgoing Server (SMTP) - smtp.tools.sky.com
      Server Port - 995
      Geoff, York.
Can't call me a Luddite now!

Have tried the UnlockCaptcha?. Do not have the @sky.com on the username for this.

A bit more to do :-
Server Port 995 is Incoming server
      Outgoing Server Port is 465
      Outgoing Server requires Authentication

Ned Ludd thanks for the info but already used those settings as they are the ones given on the assistance through this site - still not worked.
Moleman - showing my ignorance but what is Unlock Captcha?
