Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007
I have tried unlock captcha and it does not recognise username/password. Tried it under my username and it worked. Then tried to set up e-mail and failed again. Error message reads
"...Your e-mail server rejected your login....ERR[AUTH] Username and password rejected".
I have double checked and can log in via Sky e-mail using the same username & password. Could this have anything to do with the Sky wireless router??

Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007
The error is the username and password, so I don't think it has anything to do with the router. Try changing the password again, although it is strange these work on the Webmail and will not with a client. Alternately, set up another account and 'blackhole' the existing one.

Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007
Google seems to lock out access to the POP/SMTP servers if there have been a number of unsuccessful log in attempts.
The UnlockCaptcha is the way to reset this.
If you are unable to reset the UnlockCaptcha but can log in via webmail then it seems the password that google has is different to the one held by Sky.
The way to get them back in step is usually to use the ForgottenPassword link.
If this is not working then I think only sky support can correct it.

It may be advisable to use the Forgotten Password link to check the correct username is being used. There is a slight chance that this is causing the problem.

Re: Help with Accessing e-mail Using Outlook 2007
i had the same problem only just got it sorted - you should be able to unlock your email using the google captcha thing as mentioned above and if you can't you need to phone tech support to unlock it for you, because if your email is in fact locked then no amount of tampering with settings will work apparently.
Now I phoned them twice last week and they said it would take a few days each time, then a lady this morning just did it for me there and then - go figure!
Anyway following that the key for me was the 'Outgoing Servers' tab on the email settings, after you've put all the other settings in as above - make sure to click 'My outgoing server requires authentication' and 'use same settings as incoming' -presuming you've set everything else up as above. Then try it.
I just thought I'd add, if you want to set up other non-sky emails, use the same outgoing smtp settings as your sky email, and this time on this same 'Outgoing Servers' page, click 'log on using' and enter your user.name@sky.com and your sky password. But on the first page your email log in and password is for your other non-sky email eg: username@btinternet.com and password
Worked for me. Good luck!
