Error when opening Outlook Express
When opening Outlook Express in Windows XP I get the following error message
The host 'pop.tools.sky.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Accounts:'Harve', Server:'pop.tools.sky.com' , Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL):Yes, Socket Error: 11004, Error Number: 0x800ccc0D
I have checked in IE8 and do not dial a connection is ticked - it is actually greyed out as the dial up modem drivers aren't installed.
Any suggestions or further checks I can make

Any firewalls installed on the PC? Has OE ever worked in the past?

Re: Error when opening Outlook Express
The only firewall is the standard XP one.
I am posting on behalf of a new user - first time on the internet - and I believe it has happened from first setting up the email accounts in Outlook Express.
The odd part is that there are two accounts
The original Sky email account which doesn't do it and the new one which does.
After the initial error message it all works fine.
It is as though it takes two attempts before it finds the server
Note that the problem account is set as default and is the first one on the list so is the first one Outlook Express tries to connect on.
