Max Number of Email Recipients
Wed 16 Sept 09
I produce a newsletter for a local club and I want to send it as an email to about 200 recipients. Currently, I use Mozilla Thunderbird email software and the Sky Broadband Max package. Will Thunderbird and Sky ISP cope with this? What is the maximum number of email addresses that I can paste in the BCC field? Each email contains an attachment (PDF file of about 10 pages A4).
I would be grateful for any help or advice. Can I use webmail?
Thanks

Re: Max Number of Email Recipients
I think you may have to send it out in small batches or you will fall foul of Sky's email spam filter.

Re: Max Number of Email Recipients
That amount going out in one hit is likely to trigger an abuse alert to be honest. I take it the local club doesn't have it's own site/ domain? Might be worth asking a member of staff here what their limits are for using a skyuser email account.

Re: Max Number of Email Recipients
The club has it's own website and domain. I am using Thunderbird and I have set POP and SMTP to the club's mail server. I am not using Sky email but I am on Sky Broadband.

Re: Max Number of Email Recipients
Doubt if it will be a problem then to be honest. If it had been the Sky servers then maybe but on their own servers unless someone has put any restrictions in place you should be fine.
