Sky email changing to Windows mail help
I have been using Sky's email to log in and look at my emails, thats been OK until about 6 weeks ago when it all slowed down and you had to wait at least 30 seconds to down load just one email . I have tried to change over to Windows mail, went through all there setup information, I can send a email out from Windows mail but it will not receive a email ,can you please help. I tried all telephone numbers but it seems they don't want to answer the telephone.
Thanks for any help Terry

Re: Sky email changing to Windows mail help
when you say you can't receive, do you mean when doing a test message? as if so you won't get it as it won't work...you have to actually send yourself an email and it should come back to you...
i assume you've got the @sky.com at the end of your username, and have it set to use the same settings as your incoming mail server, and the correct ports (995 for POP, 465 for SMTP)?...-------------------------------------------

Re: Sky email changing to Windows mail help
well, it DOES work as I have multiple Sky addresses set up (using Outlook 2007)...what I'd suggest it to remove the account and re-do it as this thread suggests (it's for Outlook 2010 but isn't far removed from Windows Mail in Vista)...

Re: Sky email changing to Windows mail help
Try using this tutorial if you are using Windows Mail-
Sky User - How to set up your Vista Windows Mail / Windows Live client
One thing to remember, if you send a Test message to yourself, it will stay in the Web folder, it will not come back into your email client.

Re: Sky email changing to Windows mail help
unless you want to access your email on more than 1 client IMAP is pointless so best stick to POP...

Re: Sky email changing to Windows mail help
BTW just to clarify, when I login to Sky website email I use the ID without the @sky.com
does this make a difference when setting up Windows Mail. Also the telephone in this thread for contacting Sky is it one which is a high cost ?
