      New to all this, help please,

      How can I tell that my sent emails have been received.

      I use Windows Vista and Skymail.

      you need to enable read receipt when you send the mail. so when the recipient actually reads the email, you will be sent a notification that the email has been opened.

      However, as sky email is basically Google mail it does not handle the read receipt option.

      Not only that but the recipient can disable this in his mail client.

      If you are really new and are just wondering if your email is being delivered, unlike normal snail mail, undelivered emails do not disappear into thin air. If it does not come back into your inbox as 'undeliverable' then the recipient has received it. Whether it has been opened, is another question, covered by Joss.
