Cant get email to work with windows live or thunderbird. Help!

I really need some help. Ive just got on to sky BB and I cant get the damn email to work with thunderbird or windows live.

Ive been through the forum and ive followed the instruction:

      Here
Sky User - How to set up your Vista Windows Mail / Windows Live client

      and here
      Sky.com - Sky Help Centre>Sky Online

Nothing works. Thunderbid simply says it can not access the server, while live mail gives this message

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sky (one-wingedangel) account. The connection to the server has failed.

      Server: 'pop.tools.sky.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
      Protocol: POP3
      Port: 995
      Secure(SSL): Yes
      Socket Error: 10013

Please I really need help this thing is really stressing me out!

Can't remember the details exactly, but I think that you have to activate Sky for POP3 mail retrieval (you do for Googlemail, on which Sky is based).

Log in on the Sky mail website and follow links for activation of POP3.

      Regards,

      Felix

Log into sky.com, go to email and tools, log into servers if requested, click on mail settings, click on IMAP, POP & Forwarding tab, enable service and apply/ save changes.
If that is already done make sure that nothing is blocking the application accessing the internet.
