Re: cannot access email via pop3 account
I use Google (Gmails) servers instead of Sky ones on Vista as I couldn't originally get the sky ones to work, it is a long shot but worth a go:
pop.gmail.com - port 995
smtp.gmail.com - port 465
Follow the set up guide here but obviously enter your sky address and password where asked to do so:
Windows Mail - Gmail Help

Re: cannot access email via pop3 account
If unlock is still saying password details do not match then you may need to try another password reset from the sky.com sign in link, click on forgotten my password. If the password resets and you still get the error on unlock then the passwords will need resetting by webmail as the servers are not synching on the account.

Re: cannot access email via pop3 account
Accch, this is driving me fraking insane!
My mum-in-law is over here in Australia and I've been trying to get her Sky mail set up on her Macbook so she doesn't have to use the web interface anymore ... easier to save pics of the grandkids using a proper mail program.
Despite being able to log in with no worries using the username/password, both the POP and SMTP servers refuse to accept the same password. I tried the unlock and it to rejected the correct password.
So I've tried the "forgotten password" link ... and of course the Sky website is experiencing "technical difficulties" ...
In frustration I've set up an email account on our own website ... no problems at all. And have forwarded her Sky mail to the new account. So at least she has email working.
But it would be nice to figure out why Sky is being such a pain. I'll try Paul's suggestion ... if the Sky website starts behaving before her flight leaves this arvo ...
