Self-addressed email going only to webmail?

Recently changed PC and had to go through all the set-up procedure again to get my sky emails forwarded to Outlook.

Have noticed that any self-addressed emails sent from Outlook only go to the webmail, but don't show up in Outlook (I tend to send emails to myself to test that everything's working).

Now I'm not sure if this is a new phenomenon, or it was like this on my old PC too. And I suppose I'm not that bothered, as the rest of my emails to my sky account are coming through normally to Outlook, but I'm intrigued as to why this is happening.

      Anyone any ideas?

No idea why it happens, but it happens to me as well, so you are not alone. They show up in the Web mail as from 'Me'.

It's because Google mail doesn't like email going in a circle to and from the same account.

Re: Self-addressed email going only to webmail?

Could it be because Outlook recognises that it already has the email in its Sent (Out) box? In the same way, it won't show and download the same email twice if it hasn't been deleted from the server.
