Outlook Express and IMAP problems
My friend has a laptop and Iphone. She is using IMAP and can send and receive e-mails through the Iphone. She can log into Sky E-Mail on line and send and receive e-mails OK. If she uses the laptop she can send e-mails but not receive. She has everything set up as it should be on Outlook Express (she thinks having followed inustructions) She also tried to enable POP on Sky and changed everything but still could not receive e-mails through Outlook Express. Has anyone got any idea what it could be?

Re: Outlook Express and IMAP problems
Make sure you have all the settings done right ,
From what i can see from other posts most forget this step :
17. Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to This Server Requires An Encrypted Connection (TLS).
Also check the port numbers and so on .

Re: Outlook Express and IMAP problems
Hi Steven
She has re-checked port numbers etc. She turned off the SLS tick but she did not get an option to choose turn on an encrypted connection (TLS) Is she missing something? She can still send from her laptopn but not receive. Thanks

Re: Outlook Express and IMAP problems
If it's sending and not receiving then concentrate on the POP/ IMAP settings, what version of outlook express is it? By the way its SSL not TLS and port for POP is 995 or for IMAP its 993.

Re: Outlook Express and IMAP problems
Hello,
As i was saying i use windows live mail but the settings are close if not the same ,
Ok to start check the first page of the account ,
User name Ect :
From here click on the servers tab and make sure the settings are all ok ,
You will see on the page it says " My server requirers authentication " make sure this is ticked ,
From here go to advanced checking the port numbers 465 Smtp 995 Pop3
Also make sure both a ticked for (SSL)
If this is all ok i would try the same but for imap .Last edited by Steven_Belfast; 21-12-08 at 02:42 PM.
