iTouch not sending emails
Hope this is the correct forum to post this, apologies if not.
Despite following [carefully] the advice given on these excellent formus I cannot get my iTouch to send email. I've tried the POP option and the IMAP option but I just cannot get the iTouch to send, no problem receiving email. I think it's something to do with the SMTP setting(s) or something but it's way beyond me.
If anyone can put me out of my frustration I would be very grateful.
Thanks.

Re: iTouch not sending emails
Yes that was the first tutorial I tried but despite following it as closley as I could my iTouch wouldn't send emails. I tried the IMAP then the POP route. What I don't understand is what's the difference between the two and is one better than the other?
What I keep getting on the Outgoing Mail field is
smtp.tools.sky.com:465
I'm not sure if the :465 needs to be there and every time I get rid of it the 465 changes to a different number.

Re: iTouch not sending emails
Still nothing :-( Does it matter whether it's POP or IMAP and also would it matter that the software on the iTouch is the original ie 1.4 and not the 2.1?
I've also retried connecting it using my wireless cable connection and still nothing either.
However I can receive and send if I use my Googlemail account on my iTouch !! Confused now.Last edited by Schrodinger56; 22-11-08 at 02:14 PM. Reason: Update

Re: iTouch not sending emails
pop/imap is purely for receiving mail not sending, so 'no' it shouldn't matter.

Re: iTouch not sending emails
Have you got Host Name as smtp.tools.sky.com and Use SSL as ON and Authentication as Password in Outgoing Mail Server in SMTP settings?
