Emails & mobiles
I'm sorry if this has been covered before-I've checked quickly but can't find anything.
I'm having problems trying to email using my N95 mobile phone-it's NOT the N95-8gig one. I'm with O2 with tariff.
I can send them but not retrieve them. My settings are as follows:
for Incoming
Username: removed@sky.com
Password: *******
Incoming mail server: pop.tools.sky.com
Access point in use: O2 Mobile Web (ALL alternatives are still O2)
Mailbox name: toon
Mail box Type: POP3
Security (ports): Off
Port: Default
APOP secure login: Off
For Outgoing
My emails adress: removed@sky.com
User name: removed@sky.com
Password: ******
Outgoing Mail server
mail.O2.co.uk
Access point in use: O2 Mobile Web (all alternatives are still O2)
Security (ports): Off
Port: Default
As I've said, I can send and are getting picked up on OE but nothing showing up on my mob, so can anyone help please?
I may add that I've been onto Sky techy (manual said to ring server)and they've told me to ring O2, which I haven't done yet.

Re: Emails & mobiles
I can't help you but I would remove your email address for your post as it is an open invitation to spammers.

Re: Emails & mobiles
Sky won't be able to help as it's nothing to do with them, you need to check with O2 and see if they are using a system compatible with SSL. You have no security set on your listing and default ports, Sky use SSL on ports 465 for smtp and 995 on POP.

Try altering that to see if you have any success

Re: Emails & mobiles
Thanks for noting and removing my full addy-never give that a thought-doohh
and thanks for that Rick-uk-I think I tried that, but have another go.
I know I hadn't the Sky ports number right, but had previously tried that and still nothing. Will have another go.
I've posted asking on O2 too-omitted the data out-and am waiting for a reply-could be a phone call/email to them though.Last edited by puretoon; 15-10-08 at 11:06 PM. Reason: got companies mixed up

Re: Emails & mobiles
Just thought on-can I just ask how it's got nothing to do with Sky when I use their Midi Broadband?

Re: Emails & mobiles
Because you aren't accessing the email directly via a web interface on a computer, your issue is the setup between your phone and the email servers. Does your email work correctly via a PC connection? Have you logged into sky.com yet? Have you gone into mail and tools, mail settings and enabled POP?
Sky tech support is there to support PC interfacing with the internet connection, not mobile phone setup, games console setupor P2P setup unforutnately.
