Sending email with sky on port 25?
Hello
I am a webmaster and I am interested in signing up with sky broadband package.
I have noticed that sky use googlemail for there email and they do not allow people to send email via SMTP through port 25. This is for security which I understand.
I am a webmaster and promote websites via reciprocal link requests. I purchased some software a little while ago that helps me to do this. My software finds and sends emails to website owners to ask them if they would be willing to be come link partners. The software is not used for spam in any way.
My question is I would like to move to sky broadband as it is alot cheaper than my current ISP as I will not be paying £20 per month. If I move to sky broadband then the software I use to send/comunicate with my prespective web site reciprocal clients would not work with that software making it unusable and a total waste of my money and time.
I would like to know how I can still send emails with a sky broadband package using my software.
The software can be configured to send mail from a different port but it does not allow for the SSL encription when sending mail.
Any help or advice would be extremely helpful.
Thank you all in advance.

you'd either have to buy a mailbox from a host and use that, OR sign up for the SkyUser smtp service - otherwise any mail sent from you will show as 'on behalf of youraddress@sky.com'

i think sky email only support SSl port number 465 , but sometimes it works with port number 587, ive noticed that a few times but i think if u do that, u can't recevie mail without changing the outgoing server back to 465.
