      I would advise you to delete everything you have tried so far and start again, don't try to correct as you go along. There is no reason why you should not be able to set it up. Print off THIS this page and follow the instructions carefully and you should succeed. You should follow Paul's advice to reset your password before you start to be absolutely sure that you are using the correct word as this seems to be the root of your problem.

      Please tell me if anything works for you, I had this problem a few months back on my desktop PC and I eventually gave up as nothing worked and I have never been able to use Outlook Express since! It works fine on my laptop but not on my desktop PC so I have to use webmail on one PC and OE on the other!

      @curlu
      If the settings on your laptop work and they are the same on your Desktop which does not work, then the only thing that can be wrong is your security settings. If you are using Norton or McAfee in particular, try uninstalling it from the Add/Remove programs and try your email. You can reinstall again whether this works or not. Don't try simply disabling, this does not always turn it off completely.

      Re: Password problem (outlook express)

      Thanks, it has occured to me that Norton might be the reason BUT the reason I have not tried this before is that both machines are running Norton.Also Outlook which I use for my work emails runs fine on my desktop albeit not with my sky account! But its worth a try, so I will pursue that route today and let you know!

      Uninstalling Norton made no difference unfortunately!
