      New today - but no email address

      Hello After having Sky TV for years we have today switched ISP to Sky Broadband and successfully connected a desktop and a wireless laptop. My wife is the Sky account holder and the email address she set up works perfectly. I chose an additional user name and email address and set up this exactly as Tom in his excellent video on this site suggests. I got an email in reply saying everything was now set up for me and welcome to Sky. When we tried sending an email from my wife's PC to my laptop, I got a "message unable to be delivered" reply which stated that my email address did not exist. After trying to sort things myself, I phoned Sky support, was put through to a helper in India, who then switched me to (I think) Scotland, where a lady said it was not her province and switched me to a collegue she said was a specialist email assistant. We tried everything he could think of then he signed off by suggesting I go to the email help pages on the Sky site. Almost 40 minutes on the phone with no result. Since then I've sat and pulled out most of my hair.
      Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have Outlook, but so far have just used the Sky email page. I'm getting desperate as I have emails to reply to received via my previous ISP. Thanks

      you have to actually log in first for it to become active, then emails will reach you...

      He has logged in by looks of it. I would guess you got put through to webmail buy my first question is, where was the account created? Was it on MySky from the main account login? If you created the account via the mysky page on your wifes' login and are then getting errors when trying to send via the web interface then the webmail person you spoke to is an idiot for sending you to the help pages on sky.com as the issue is probably the account setup on the server.
      Have you tried creating a new "test" account against the main user account to see whether it is just a glitch on the faulty account or whether its a bigger issue on the main account login?

      I think I've cracked it. After more hairpulling, I checked my own profile which was correct in all the personal details etc. then decided to check my wife's as she is the main account holder. Despite her being able to send emails we found several fields of her profile were not completed. So they were filled in and from that point everything appears to be going okay. Emails sent locally and to the U.S. have gone out and in a couple of cases, been replied to so thanks everyone, fingers crossed, things seem to be fine.

      Ah incomplete profile, normally whenever you log in to mysky it moans at you till you fill them in properly.
