Email nightmare
I joined Sky on 19th May and have been having problems receiving my own emails that I send to my mailing lists that I subscribe to
I have constantly rung and have had varying responses, from them thinking I am trying to Cc my own emails, to wanting to flag them
No matter how many times I tried to tell them what was wrong, they seemed to think I was being stupid
Please, please, can someone tell me how I can get the emails I send to my mailing list, into my inbox (I can receive everybody elses)
I don't want to keep going to the web site and having to trawl through the SENT MAIL / ALL MAIL folders to find them
Thank you in advance

Re: Email nightmare
I'm not sure I understand the problem either. Why would you want to receive mails you have sent?
The fact is Sky/Google do not make mails you send to yourself available for POP download.
Have you tried using IMAP instead?

Re: Email nightmare
I want those emails in my inbox because I need them in drafts
I belong to several genealogy lists and it's very useful to have the original + all the replies in one place
As anyone researching genealogy knows, you don't always get a reply straight away
Some people even start a new message on a new email, and if you haven't got the original it can be very frustrating to have to plough through all the ALL MAIL / SENT MAIL folders to find the one you want
Anyway apart from this I think I should have the right to receive my own emails in my own inbox

Re: Email nightmare
IMAP basically copies the mail folder structure from the email server to your hard drive. An email moved within the folders in outlook will also move on the server. Therefor anything you send through the account will also sit in the sent folder.

Re: Email nightmare
So how can I get my emails to my mailing lists into my inbox?
I know I might be a bit thick here but I don't understand why this request seems so difficult
When I was with Virgin Media I didn't have this problem at all
Neither does my daughter, who's on Orange
So why is it so difficult for Sky?

Re: Email nightmare
Its not difficult, enable IMAP on your email and tools, mail settings page and follow the instructions on sky.com help center, sky online, email, Setting up your email program with Sky Email. Once done you will receive a copy of any email sent from or received into your sky account.

Re: Email nightmare
from what I can gather using POP through the Sky/Google mail system you CANNOT send yourself an email from Outlook...it'll be in the portal inbox but won't come back to you...no way around it either...
