Sky Broadband & Email via outlook 2007, 2003 & Express COMPLETE & TOTAL HELP!
Here is your Sky Broadband & Email via outlook 2007, 2003 & Express COMPLETE & TOTAL HELP!
This is for anyone That needs help with sky broadband *email services.
Today’s Date is: 24th May 2008 -12:30PM
IF you have a Freeserve, Wanadoo or Fsworld (now orange!) email account & download your email messages via Outlook 2007, 2003 or Express, Then this is for you!
-Peace & enjoy.
*Leave your original email logon settings as they where before you joined sky broadband.
i.e. Your user name, email address, incoming server & password.
The ONLY ONE that you will NEED to Change is this:
YOUR SMTP:
To: smtp.tools.sky.com
..Follow these simple steps for guaranteed email sending & downloading via sky broadband results.
To Send: (These are your settings!)
- Pop.freeserve.com
- smtp.tools.sky.com
*Set your Sever Port Numbers as:
Incoming Port: 110
Outgoing Port: 465
AUTHENTICATE OUTGOING ONLY WITH SSL!
To make sure of NO Hick ups or SHADOWS OF A DOUBT!
..Click Here& follow the on Screen instructions. They are very Simple & will UNLOCK your settings & computer for perfect compatibility.

*From the computer on which your logins are failing, go here: www.sky.com/unlock.
- Type in your Sky Email username (EXCLUDE the @sky.com)
- Type your Password
- FILL in the letters from the distorted picture.
- You would have then successfully logged in
- Restart your Outlook Email Program
- & start to download your mail.
For SKY email Downloads to your OUTLOOK 2007, 2003, Express or any outlook:
YOU MUST LOG INTO SKY EMAIL ACCOUNT FIRST TO SET YOUR EMAIL SETTINGS THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEND, RECEIVE & DOWNLOAD YOUR SKY EMAILS VIA OUTLOOK 2007, 2003 & OUTLOOK EXPRESS!

This link accesses via the same thing via Google. –SKY asked Google for help with email set up. Enter your username and password, then click the: I am not an administrator & you’ll be straight in at your SKY site web mail.)
Your frustration is coming/ nearing an end.
Once you’ve logged into your sky email account via the sky web page/ site with your user name & password, go to the mail settings section (it is located in the top right hand corner in a light blue coloured font.)
Once there, there will be a darker royal blue subject heading.
Click on the subject heading: Forwarding and POP/ IMAP
1. In the FORWARDING section: Disable Forwarding.
2. In the POP Download Section: Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
3. In the IMAP Access: Disable IMAP
4. Save Changes! –VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!
Once this basic setting/ configuration is done, you are Home free!
This is the Last Section & you will be good to go.
Go to your outlook 2007, 2003, Express & follow these instructions:
Tools – Options – Mail Setup – Email Accounts – Change:
Your Sky setting should be:
Your Username = (SKY) Full email address including the @sky.com
Your Email = (SKY) Full email address including the @sky.com
Your Incoming Mail Server (POP3): = pop.tools.sky.com
Your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): = smtp.tools.sky.com
Now Click on More SETTINGS.
Click on the Outgoing Server Tab & Tick MY Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication.
Highlight, tick or place a dot in the: Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.
Now Touch The ADVANCE TAB.
SET Your Server port Number to 995 & Tick the THIS SERVER REQUIRES AN ENCRYPTED CONNECTION (SSL)
Below this section:
Set your OUTGOING SERVER TO: 465 & set the encrypted connection to SSL!
Click ok & you are good to go.
Happy Emailing - Sending - Retrieving - downloading.

I had a Freeserve account from the start and when I got Sky BB I used those settings to access Freeserve through Sky BB and the Gmail with no trouble...But about 6 months ago I couldn't access Freeserve ( Account not recognised ) I think that Orange had closed the account because I wasn't using dial-up, I think they make some money on the phone charges and maybe because I wasn't logging on through Freeserve.
