IMAP Mail Issues.
Hey Guys its my first time using IMAP instead on POP3 it seemed better with it all getting stored on sky...anyways i think i have set all the setting right (im using office outlook 2007) just to make sure il post them;
-----------------------------------
incoming server : imap.tools.sky.com
Outgoing serve : smtp.tools.sky.com
Incoming server port : 993 (ssl)
Outgoing server port : 25 (auto)
-----------------------------------
I can recive email fine, but when i attempt to send i get this:
Task '******@sky.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530 5.5.1 My client isn't accepting my username and password 34sm5524572uga.73'
Dont have a clue what todo?

Re: IMAP Mail Issues.

Re: IMAP Mail Issues.
I take it you have set the username in the software as your full email address given to you by sky ?
Also did you follow the instructions on sky.com?
1. Open Outlook.
2. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts.
3. Open the Mail tab, and click New.
4. Click Mail in the New menu.
5. Click Configure Account Manually.
6. Select POP, and click OK.
7. Enter your name in the Name field.
8. Enter your full Sky Email address (username@sky.com) in the Email Address field.
9. Enter your full Sky Email address (username@sky.com) in the Account ID field.
10. Enter pop.tools.sky.com in the POP server field.
11. Enter your password in the Receiving mail password field.
12. Check the box next to Save password.
13. Enter smtp.tools.sky.com in the SMTP server field.
14. Choose, Click here for advanced receiving options.
15. Check the box next to This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL).
16. The port will change to 995.
17. Close this portion of the dialogue box.
18. Choose, Check here for advanced sending options.
19. Check the box next to SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).
20. Check the box next to Override default SMTP port, and enter 465 in the Port field.
21. Check the box next to SMTP server requires authentication.
22. Leave the default Use same settings as incoming mail server button selected.
23. Close this portion of the dialogue box, and then close the configuration dialogue box.Last edited by PaulSky; 17-05-08 at 05:05 PM.
