      spam e-mail not downloading to outlook

      I use Microsoft Outlook for my e-mail although I can still only received and not send I have to log in to do that. I have found that any spam e-mail even when its not spam and can be something important, does not download into Outlook. How do you do it. I have to keep logging in to check if there is anything important in the spam folder which is crazy.

      Has anybody solved the problem of not being able to send from Microsoft Outlook.

      Erm many people have solved the problem, can you say what your settings are for your SMTP servers? They should be smtp.tools.sky.com, SSL enabled and port number changed to 465.

      sharonann, did you try the suggestions I made here?

      I think the best answer to your "not seeing spam problem" is to use IMAP instead of pop now that SKY support both. I have just tested it and it does sycronise all folders (although skoogle call them labels) including spam.

      See here for details on setting up IMAP.

      I am using smtp.tools.sky.com 465 and ssl ticked. I have tried setting up IMAP but it keeps asking me for a log on password after setting up the email account which I am using the correct one which I am using to access with POP and it will not let me in.

      You have to enable IMAP in your SKY account, same as you did for POP. (They can both be enabled at the same time). Have you done this?

      Yes I have enabled IMAP in my Sky account in the same place as I have enabled POP is that what you mean. Both are enabled it lets me received on POP as it did already but not send which as you know was one of my problems along with the SPAM problem. As regards the IMAP its wants my password which when I put that in its telling me its not correct its just crazy.

      I tested the IMAP settings using outlook express, and they worked fine for me.
      Not being able to send with Outlook is frequently down to needing the latest Service Pack. You didn't say what version of Outlook you use so here's a couple of links to different SP3's:

      Then I think you need Download details: Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) as that includes Outlook 2002.
