Having just spent the last hour trying to get my email working again, I finally tracked the cause to an update to Outlook which I received yesterday. This may just effect some Vista users but if you find that you keep getting the username password box up, then having your username/password rejected, uninstall the update for Outlook or do a System Restore and this should clear it.
