Re: sending e-mail as *@btopenworld.com
If, as I assume, your btopenworld account is PAYG then now you are on Sky you can't send via the BTO server, it has to be via Sky/Google.
However, if you convert your mail account to a BT Yahoo! Premium Mail account then you can send via the BTO/Yahoo server.

yep, used to be with bt but now just PAYG and connecting when i need to (every 60 days or so)
will look at the premium mail account and see if it's worth it
thanks for your help

Re: sending e-mail as *@btopenworld.com
I am a premium customer but have never been issued with the server details to connect to. Before I moved, I was with Virgin Media and was always able to use the Blueyonder smtp server and still show my btinternet email address.
Moving to Sky has been a change and now need to make use of the bt yahoo premium service. I have sent them an email but not expecting a speedy reply. If anyone knows the server details then I would be really grateful if they could post them in here.
*****UPDATE*******
Found that it is exactly the same "mail.btinternet.com" that I always used. The only difference was that I now only use the first part of my email address as my username (previously I had been using the whole email address as my username -can't remember why I had to change this). Strangely, no matter what I did to my old outlook account, I couldn't be authenticated on the smtp server but when I set up a new account with the same details in Outlook, it worked first time!Last edited by garethuk; 18-04-08 at 09:07 PM. Re: sending e-mail as *@btopenworld.com
outlook express which can be setup to recieve your sky and google mail and bt openworld, when sending emails you should be able to send from either account
when creating mail the top box titltled from has a small dropdown arrow which should allow you to select any of your email accounts to send fromLast edited by nodrog; 18-04-08 at 09:43 PM.
