Re: Using my Virgin.net email
You just continue to use the Virgin settings (ie their POP and SMTP). You only need the Sky settings if you are using your Sky email address. You can't mix the two and you can't use Sky Email as a host for your Virgin email, you will have to continue to have access to the Virgin email system.

Re: Using my Virgin.net email
That's odd because I can receive at the moment but not send using my virgin settings?
Do I have to change the ports or something?

Re: Using my Virgin.net email
I'm assuming you are connected to the Internet using Sky Broadband. That only connects you to the Internet. Your email is a service provided by an Email Server - this may be a sky.com address in which case it's a Sky email server or it could be Virgin or any number of others. In my case my email service is provided by a 3rd party and I enter their email server details, nothing to do with sky.com.
The problem may be Virgin only allow their POP service if you connect to the Internet through Virgin. I don't know, and suggest you ask Virgin.
I personally can send from Sky Broadband using my sky email address, a 3rd party email address, a GMail address and a Yahoo email address.

Re: Using my Virgin.net email
You will probably find you have to send through the Sky SMTP servers as a lot of ISPs do not allow email to be sent through their servers from outside of their own network.

Re: Using my Virgin.net email
smtp.sky.com was turned off beginning of the year so it has to be smtp.tools.sky.com with port 465 opened in outlook and SSL encryption turned on

mail.virgin.net is the server for both send and receive if you want to use Virgin - port 110 incoming and 25 outgoing.
You will need to setup authentication using your Virgin username, (the bit of your email address before the @), and your Virgin password.
I have no problem using Virgin account via Sky BB.

Re: Using my Virgin.net email
You can receive e-mails from any e-mail pop service by adding an account and filling in the pop details in your client(outlook, Thunderbird etc.), to send you have to use the ISP's smtp server.
