    SMTP - No authentication

This is a discussion on SMTP - No authentication within the Sky Email and Portal Log-in forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; does anyone know of any STMP that does not require authentication that I can use on Sky Connect?...

Have we not setup an account for you? I am pretty positive that we have.

Yes you have but it does not seem to work for what I need.

I have a Sony Aibo robot that takes pictures and then sends via email. When was with Pipex had no issues and was able to send fine.

When was with Pipex I had these settings:
      Receiving - pop.tiscali.co.uk
      Sending - smtp.dsl.pipex.com
      Email address - 123@tiscali.co.uk
      Email account - 123@tiscali.co.uk
      Password - xxx

      Now I have
      Receiving - pop.tiscali.co.uk
      Sending - mail.skyusermail.com
      Email address - roonster
      Email account - 124@tiscali.co.uk
      Password - xxx

Do I need something else in the Email address other than just "roonster"?

I am getting error "5533 We do not relay without RFC2554 authenication"

      Try swapping

      Email address - roonster
      Email account - 124@tiscali.co.uk

      to

      Email address - 124@tiscali.co.uk
      Email account - roonster

      Tried that
Receiving says "POP Server Connection: Failed: invalid user or password"

Sending says "Failed 533 We do not relay without RFC2554 authenticaton"

      Re: SMTP - No authentication

Does it give you the option to put 2 different accounts in?

One for sending which would be our details, ie username and the password you sent to us - not your forum password.

The second for receiving - which would be 124@tiscali.co.uk and the original password you used to use before?

Sending says "Failed 533 We do not relay without RFC2554 authenticaton"

Could only mean your sending credentials are wrong as far as I am aware.

All you can put in is:
      Receiving mail server (POP)
      Sending mail server (SMTP)
      Email address
      Email account
      Email password
      Emai check interval

      Re: SMTP - No authentication

I have just sent an email using your SkyUser SMTP using the username and password that we have on file, successfully. So it is definitely authenticating. It would appear the incoming is causing a problem within the settings perhaps. Or maybe you can only have one account and password for the Sony Aibo.

In which case I would direct the question to Sony,

How would I send and receive from two different email accounts so to speak.

Also have Tiscali not disabled your email through you leaving them? Or can you still receive emails through them in say Outlook?

      Re: SMTP - No authentication

If put the old Pipex SMTP details it comes up with "530 authentication required"

If put Sky SMTP details it comes up with "530 5.7.0 must issue a STARTTLS command first T38SM2438301UGC.57

I am going to try Sony - but they not got many Aibo experts as a discontinued product now.

Tiscali is still working as the account is still open as use this at another place.

Is Skyuser email able to receive email; maybe have the POP and STMP has Skyuser?
