Email password with Outlook Express !

      Hi

Trying to configure Outlook Express to send & receive my emails but am having no end of problems with the password.

I have entered all the POP details as per guides but am getting a prompt for the email password everytime.

I have gone into MYSKY and changed my password to something different(as per Sky helpdesk) but still no joy. have tried helpdesk again this morning but currently a wait of 45 mins !!

      Anyone have any ideas ?

Have you enabled POP on your email and tools page on Sky.com? Have you set SSL on the servers and changed ports?

If you haven't enabled POP through sky email and tools page, mail settings then that is the issue most likely.

Did you remember to tick the 'Remember password' box on OE's settings?

I keep receiving prompts to enter my username and password when I'm using Sky email with POP.

We suggest making some adjustments in your mail client's settings so you aren't always prompted to enter your username and password. Please check the following settings in your mail client:

      - Make sure that you entered @sky.com after your username. For example: john.doe@sky.com
      - Re-enter your password to ensure that it's correct. Keep in mind that passwords are case-sensitive
      - Make sure your mail client isn't set to check for new mail too often. If your mail client checks for new messages more than once every 10 minutes, your client might repeatedly request your username and password

Now, please follow the steps below to resolve the problem:

Disable all POP clients you're using to read Sky Email messages. If you use one at work and one at home, please disable both.
From the computer on which your POP logins are failing, visit www.sky.com/unlock.
Enter your Sky Email username (excluding '@sky.com') and password, and the letters in the distorted picture.
Once you have successfully logged in, restart your mail client and try to download your mail.
