      Unwanted copies of e-mails!

I have recently joined Sky Broadband. I use Outlook Express v.6 for e-mails. I have set it up and all works correctly. I have even made the necessary changes to prevent Sky/Google from hijacking my domain e-mails by preventing them putting my Sky e-mail address as the 'reply to' address.

All seems well.....except....for some reason, Sky/Google keep a copy of all e-mails I send. This is not required by me as Outlook Express does it already.

I have looked at any way of preventing this but there doesn't seem to be a (clear) way of doing it.

Has anyone here got any idea how I 'turn off' the facility of Sky/Google keeping a copy of sent e-mails.

By the way - all my e-mails are sent from Outlook Express not the Sky/Google online facility.

      Many thanks.

in the POP forwarding you set it to delete Sky's copy once downloaded...job done

Thanks for reply but that seems to be for mail received. I mean it is keeping a copy of e-mails sent.

dunno then - is it such a bad thing?

EDIT: just checked my Sky email account - doesn't save sent mail on the web server, just in my client (Outlook 2007)...

      Re: Unwanted copies of e-mails!

Thanks for your comments and interest. I've sorted it now....I've moved to another SMTP 'Provider' for my e-mails and have complete control with extra facilities. I never did like GMail even though I quite like Sky for my ISP.

      Once again, my thanks!

      Re: Unwanted copies of e-mails!

fair enuff using another SMTP server, but the issue you had shouldn't happen anyway regarding the saving of sent emails online...

however, the address issue wouldn't change...glad you're sorted though
