Cannot access sky web-mail

Hi

I use Outlook as a mail client, but I like to check web mail to make sure that the spam filter hasn't caught anything it shouldn't have. For the last few days I have been getting this error on logging in:

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /amserver/SSORedirect/metaAlias/sky.

Reason: Error reading from remote server.

I am using Windows Vista.

However, I can log in fine on my laptop (Windows XP) - clearly this is a Vista issue - anyone with any ideas please?

What link are you using to read your webmail, this is the one I use:

I have only just joined Sky and like Jonathon I get the same proxy server error message. Which means I cannot get into my Sky email account.

I tried the link provided by Alan b and got nowhere with that.

I would like to know how to get rid of this error message. Can anyone help?

I have solved the 'proxy error' problem. I had my security settings too high. I went into internet options and lowered the privacy tab to medium low. This got rid of the Proxy Error but its still not quite straight forward getting in. Web pages often load completely blank. Before I got Sky my previous broadband was installed years ago and I never had all this problem with privacy. Now it seems we have to let thousands of cookies onto our machines to make them work.

cookies arent an issue though - all they hold are logins if you ask a site to remember you...temp cookies which allow you access to a site are needed though, ive never changed my security ever bar my firewall software as i run a DMZ to my PC

I found I was getting the same Proxy Error in FireFox, but could access email on the portal by using IE! Anyone know if there is a way to get FireFox working with this?

Hi All,

I have just experienced the same problem with the proxy error when trying to access my sky webmail. I rectified it by going into 'tools', then 'internet options' and deleting all my browsing history including temporary internet files, cookies, form data and history. I can now access my webmail without getting the proxy error.
