      Hi all

      Firstly i apologize if this has been covered elsewhere.

      Yesterday i was finally connected to Sky BB.

      How long should it take before i can access the Portal so that i can use the Email and Tools section, as at the moment i can login but all i keep getting when i click on the email icon is the "Want to know more" page.

      Also when do i get assigned an email address.

      Once again sorry if this is covered elsewhere.

      Hi Philip, You should already have your password and email address in a letter Sky sent to you.

      Hi,

      As i say i can login to the portal, i already had user name and password as i am an existing Sky tv customer and have been for the past 5 years or so.

      I did have one letter that states, you will only receive your "Sky broadband password once you have provided your MAC code, which we require to complete your order.

      But as i have gone from cable broadband to adsl bb i have no MAC code to give them.

      Also i have never had anything even hinting as to what my email addy would be.

      Philip, Your user name and password are the ones you use to log into sky portal. Try this tutorial for accessing email here

      mine worked within 30 mins of placing my order...is the same logins i use for MySky...

      Sorry it's nor working for you. I can tell you that your email address wil be yourusername@sky.com. Let us know what sky have to say, could help others

      Folks just finished talking to a young lady at the BB team, news is, it appears that although my BB is active, i am not actually in the system as active, i had a feeling it may have been something like this as when i checked my services, the cost of BB was not showing.

      Young lady has got to fill out a form and pass it over to the Web team, should take about 24 hrs.

      Oh well seems as though what i was told yesterday may have been incorrect.

      Called them again this afternoon.

      Have now been told that i am using the wrong log in details!! since December 06 my login for sky has been sexton41 and password of my choice

      I have been able to login to the MYSKY portal no problems.

      Woman on phone today says it that my user name is p.sexton1(this is my part of my sky email addy, i did not no this until this evenings conversation, i have not had any letter stating this) i have no idea where she got that from, it just so happens to be my email addy for ntl.

      So she says to be able to use the email part of the portal i have to login with p.sexton1 username, of course i have not got a password for this one, sooo we go to login section, click on "forgotten password" go through the steps to create a password, only to be told by the page that they could not identify me by the info given.

      Now i have to wait yet another day to get this sorted out, they will contact me tomorrow sometime.

      Lol starting to wish i had not bothered now.

      just dont bother about the Sky one - if you have another continue to use it until the Sky one is actually active...
