Re: receiving emails from my Plusnet account
I'm sorry I don't understand why you are unable to connect. When I changed to Sky all I did to my existing my Plusnet account was change the outgoing server to smtp.tools.sky.com, change the More settings' Outgoing server(SMTP):465 and tick the encryption box. Note that the incoming server does not get the encryption box ticked as the Plusnet server does not require it.
Did you arrange a Dial up account when you left Plusnet? If you didn't there is every chance your account no longer exists, hence the difficulty in logging in. In the past Plusnet allowed the account to run for about 2 months before cutting it off, but this may have changed. The free dialup account must be accessed at least once every 90 days to stay alive.

Re: receiving emails from my Plusnet account
Here is a link to the plusnet setup instructions. Obviously you need only to follow the pop part of the instructions as the smtp will be your sky details. Hope this helps.
To check if your account is still active can you login to the webmail portal at https://webmail.plus.net/src/login.php

Rather strange, as I just received notification of my referral's payments yesterday and a newsletter a couple of days ago. I have asked Support for an explanation as I regularly log in by dial up, simply to keep the account alive.

Re: receiving emails from my Plusnet account
Hi Moleman
That was very helpful of you to find this info
I had already logged onto plusnet to check logon details ie mail.plus.net and I have entered smtp.tools.sky.com for outgoing server
Obviously I enter the username and password that I use for my plusnet account
I noticed a couple of emails from google mail that were sitting in the account, which were not downloading to outlook, so it must be a setting that I am missing as I can logon to server, but not download
Thanks for help

Yes. Have you made sure that the encryption box below it is unticked?
