For anybody still struggling with Outlook, I finally managed, after a couple of hours of swearing at the PC and checking various threads on here,to make headway.
2 things that I had to activate were:-
1) The 'POP/Forwarding e-mails' element within sky tools.
And when sending,
2) Ensure that you've put a tick in the box next to 'my server requires authentication' in the outgoing mail server section found under servers.
It was this second step that threw me but got there eventually.Well it certainly seems to be working ok now.

Not for me
I've read every thread on the subject, printed off and worked through all the tutorials, searched and read through all sorts of links and none of it works.
In frustration I dug out Outlook Express. Guess what? Works perfectly.....I'll move my address book over and save out what emails I need and carry on with that then.

i know but a lot of people DO come on here blaming Sky for issues not regarding them...just making a point
and why shouldnt people ring Sky? for the most part they get things fixed first time - its just to long winded issues that take time as they have to go into the que for CST...

Fair play to IAmNotTheEnemy.I think you'll find that you are most definitely stuck between the two stools m8.
Giving the company point of view against people who, quite obviously, are well mythed with the recent changeover.
If it works you're sat there having a grin thinking 'right touch'.
Whereas if you continually try everything that's recommended by Sky and on these forums, and find you're still struggling then it's got to be 'frustration city'. Localised software or not.
Still fair play to you NotTheEnemy. You obviously try to assist where you can and I don't imagine you're getting paid commision for trying to help and dish out advice.

yip got to give it to him at least he is standing up and saying we're (Sky) is not perfect..
But I have to contradict his appraisal.. Sky are to blame..
They are to blame if their change over causes problems where before there were none..
I someone came to your home and changed the address of your house and subsequently there were problems with other companies sending your mail to the wrong address, would you blame those companies or the company that caused it in the first place..
Don't sky charge for their support phone number ? I have spoken to around 20 support people all who go through the same step by step that is on their screen, they are not technical people but a telephine answering service.. so far I've spoken to ireland, india and america .. 2 line managers and probibly around 6 - 8 hours worth of calls they have skimmed off me ..

Hi, new here. I'm having similar problems using Outlook 2003. I've changed to smto.tools.sky.com and when I run the test account settings everything is ok apart from sending the send test email which fails. Anyone care to shed some light on this one?
