Re: Whats going on with Sky Email - February 2008

As I stated earlier letters were sent out to the sky.com addresses only.
All previous correspondence from sky came to the address used when registering. I thought it safe to assume that official notifications would continue to come to that address.

Emails to that address ceased just before the notification.

The sky.com address has never worked since joining sky despite numerous hours of effort by myself and sky. I gave up trying to get it to work a year ago.

Last email from sky to my domain 6/10/07. Email notification of move came to sky.com 5/11/07. I get an email once a month around the 5th or 6th therefore no reason to assume I'd missed anything.

This move was bound to affect users with their own domain name and it would have been common courtesy to inform via the registered domain address. All correspondence with sky previously had been on this address.

I have no wish to move to another provider and I'm no great supporter of any ISP (I've been with a few - plusnet what a fiasco with the emails there , still suffering from copious amounts of spam). Sky still represents good value for money and it is worth putting up with some inconvenience (although we may consider the notification a little underhand) compared to most of the others.

I hope SKY aint sending me anything important to the sky.com webmail system , despite many frustrated hours of trying to get it to work it simply won't let me log-in , not using the details on the letters from sky or using the sKy username and password supplied.

You probably have a corrupt username/password. Get in touch with sky.

Have you called sky tech support? Possible issues may be, password needs resetting, account may be locked, account name may be incorrect etc.
Your user name is your sky.com email address without @sky.com and the password may need to be reset. What happens if you click on forgotten password link, put your user name in and click next?

Re: Whats going on with Sky Email - February 2008

I have only just been able to enter this forum and must admit that most of it is above my head. I would like to point out if sky looks at any of this that this email problem has just cost me 83.00 to have an engineer in to sort it out for me. I like to use incredimail with my original email address that was working fine until February. It has now been sorted, dont ask me how but at a cost.

      Confused!!!

Re: Whats going on with Sky Email - February 2008

I have had Sky since October 2007 and had a login for sky TV but somehow Sky created another id for my broadband account. Since then I annot loging using the broadband id as the customer id number which is unique to customer is already allocated to the original id I had with Sky TV and due to second id in place cannot get email and tools access using the primary id. Inspite of numerous attempts to sort this with sky, no results and now I think they might not be able to sort this ever. What a shame!!

Re: Whats going on with Sky Email - February 2008

Reply to Alan B. I left the engineer to it for nearly 3 hours as a call out to my home. I know he rang Sky as he could not log me on to anything to do with sky although they knew I existed, and they were apparantly helpful. After this and quite awhile later I was able to send my emails by incredimail as previous. I hold my breath hoping this will continue.
