Re: Solved non-Sky email address re outgoing emails

      Hello

I use an old @tesco.net email address which was working fine with Sky in Outlook until a few days ago. Is there any way to get it working like I did before? The pop settings was pop.tesco.net and the smtp was smtp.sky.com

Do Sky now not allow any other ISP's to be used? All emails sent now have my @sky.com in the 'sent from' field?

      Cheers

Re: Solved non-Sky email address re outgoing emails

      Hi there

I tried FreeSMTP - really easy to set up and seemed to work perfectly, until I tried sending to my @sky.com address and got a "relaying denied" type of message. Any other address is fine, just not sky!

I then tried MailEnable - blimey, looks a bit powerful (and complicated!) Made up some settings to get it going and found I had the exact same problem - can send to anything but @sky.com

Why should this be, and is there a way around it?

      Cheers

      Nick

Re: Solved non-Sky email address re outgoing emails

I have set up an SMTP server to be used by any Sky users in distress who need to send emails with a non sky sender address and retain the non sky sender address in the emails sent.

This service is provided free, no service setup is required just a change to your email programs settings.

To get your SMTP account enter your email address here

      Bigthinka

and details of how to use the new SMTP account will be sent to you.

Re: Solved non-Sky email address re outgoing emails

Hi, I signed up to 1and1 but im struggling to set it up!

Does anyone know, can I use 1and1 with my existing @tesco.net email address?

It only seems geared towards domains that I actually own???

Help! (and sorry if im being thick)

Re: Solved non-Sky email address re outgoing emails

I had the same problem, I can tweak the sending SMTP settings to persudade the sky server to send the emails, but replys show that "on behalf of" thing which sent me mad.
In the end I had to pay a small amount to an unresticted smtp service, I use smtp2go.com and putiing this in as the outgoing mail server works fine. I'd love a solution which saves me doing that though!!!!
      Regards
      Len

You could have applied to use the free one run by the people that run this site and it wouldn't have cost you a penny.
