SMTP Server Problems?
Hi... not sure if I am in the right section or not, but I am having problems sending out emails and wondered if there are any current SMTP Server problems?
Message I get is: Server: 'smtp.sky.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B
Been using these emails for around a year and never had a problem before and haven't changed anything at all.

Yep wrong settings, Sky have sent several emails out to customers about this since last year when they first moved to the googlemail system.

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
Just to add these are business email addresses not @sky.com
Does that make any difference? Last email I sent that worked was at 04:30am
They haven't worked at all this afternoon.
Inbound emails are working fine.

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
Yes, it was scheduled to be decommissioned at the end of January, obviously Sky gave a few days grace.
Mine also does not work with the old settings.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
All old Sky mail servers are being taken offline between 31/01/08 and 08/02/08.

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
Right OK, thanks.
I will try and find a solution then.
All I have ever had to do with regards Sky in the past was make the outgoing server smtp.sky.com, so I will probably be a bit stumped at anything more complex! So any advice is much appreciated!

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
Click on the link in my post and it tells you what to change, basically you need to change to pop.tools.sky.com and mtp.tools.sky.com, enable SSL, change the ports and make sure your username has @sky.com on the end of it.
Full set up instructions are on sky.com, click on sky help center, click sky online and select sky email.

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
Sorry to jump on an existing thread, but I've jsut found smtp.sky.com not working and changed to smtp.tools.sky.com and entered the authentication. All looks OK but it's changing my e-mail address from @itswakeling.com which is my own domain to my sky one (I don't use sky's e-mail systems but need an smtp server for outgoing mail).
Does anyone know if there is an alternative server that leaves the e-mail address unchanged?
