This service is provided free and is only available to sky customers for a temporary period until you make other arrangements.

All I would ask from you is to do is the same as I have and signup to plusnet with my refferal code (harrisonline) using the link below:

You can even try PlusNet broadband for 90 days free!

removed Referral address as against forum rules

Then to get your SMTP account enter your email address here

      Bigthinka

and details of how to use the new SMTP account will be sent to you.

^^ is that for real ??

      Hi

Thank you for the offer, but offers on here should be unconditional and unfortunately we do not allow referral links.

Yeap just register with your email address here and I'll send your emails via plusnets SMTP server. That way you won't have any problems with servers not accepting emails from private addresses.

Why not give it a go?

      Re: SMTP Server Problems?

you can use sky's smtp.tools.sky.com server to send messages from your own domain without it changing the domain from @xxxx.com to @sky.com.

you just have to register your domain with sky.com first.

Go to my sky | Email & Tools | Email |Mail Settings | Accounts | Add email address

it then sends you an email to verify it is your address. make this your default address and all email sent via that smtp server will appear as @yourdomain.com

thanks to johnny7 for the help

      Re: SMTP Server Problems?

Hmm... I've noticed the smtp server changes. As a workaround I see that I can modify the reply-to field from the web interface so that all outgoing email is from a single address. Whilst this is not ideal, at least the domain will be correct.

I am having problems connecting to the SMTP server. I've located the full sky email address and username, which I've never used, and changed outlook to connect vial SSL and modified the smtp server, however it still fails to authenticate me. Sky's response is to change your password via the account admin page, which I've done, but that doesn't change anything.

      Any thoughts?
