Nope, it's a side effect of Skoogle Mail.
If you want a definitive SMTP server for your own private email you would be better using your own, or a hosted solution.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
I actually have my own smtp server in house (I've got an os x server) which has been forwarding stuff on to smtp.sky.com since a lot of ISPs block mail that comes from a dynamic IP but obviously this isn't going to work now
Seriously unhappy with Sky now! I don't know of any other ISP that doesn't provide a basic SMTP server (and I've tried using easynet's ones but they won't relay from my IP address.)

The AuthSMTP is fairly cheap to use
AuthSMTP (SMTP-AUTH) mail relay pricing and service description.
Would a domain and hosted solution not help you?~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
I have a domain solution, it's just that they, in common with most other providers, give you a pop/imap server and say use your ISPs server for outgoing mail.
Unfortunately Sky are giving me so little for so much (a long and complicated problem that I was going to refer to Otelo. I decided I couldn't be bothered with the hassle but this is going to make me change my mind - I'm only 5 months into my 12 month contract but this is the final straw!)
Thanks for your help though.

Re: SMTP Server Problems?
I think I am in the same situation by the sounds.
I only use Sky as an outgoing server as our internet provider is Sky. These are business email addresses, so I am going to have to put @sky.com at the end of my emails instead of @businessname.com?
If so, I will have to find an alternative smtp as I simply can't use @sky.com for a retail business.

Re: outgoing email Problem?
Hi - I wonder if someone could shed light on my problem.
Yesterday everything was ok.
Today I get the message below:

I have my own domain name that says i need to use my ISP outging mailserver smtp.sky.com to send mail from it. I have read that this has changed to: stp.tools.sky.com but stilli cannot send outgoing mail. Is this the end of outgoing mail!! - For people who have their own domain but require sky's outgoing mailserver?
Thanks!
