I have a client who uses Sky Broadband, but has not configured their Sky Eamil account
They want Windows Mail configuring to receive email from their company server but will have to send mail via Sky when at home
Does the User need to activate their Sky email account
Can you please advise on smtp settings, port setting & whether the Outgoing Server requires authentication, if so will that look for the users Sky Email account & password

Re: SMTP Advice please
SSL so yes it will need his account details, it will also state that the email has been sent from his sky.com account and not his own domain or work email.
Setup is near enough the same as for Outlook Express
1. Log into Sky.com/tools and enable POP in your Sky Email account.*
2. Open Outlook Express.
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts.
4. Click Add followed by Mail.
5. Enter your name in the Display name field, and click Next.
6. Enter your full Sky Email address (username@sky.com) in the Email address field, and click Next.
7. Enter pop.tools.sky.com in the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field.
8. Enter smtp.tools.sky.com in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field and click Next.
9. Enter your Sky Email username (including '@sky.com') in the Account name field.
10. Enter your Sky Email password in the Password field, and click Next.
11. Click Finish.
12. Highlight pop.tools.sky.com under Account, and click Properties.
13. Click the Advanced tab.
14. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under Outgoing Mail (SMTP).
15. Enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
16. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under Incoming mail (POP3).
The port will change to 995.
The order of Outgoing and Incoming mail server fields varies by version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.
17. Click the Servers tab, and check the box next to My server requires authentication.
18. Click OK to complete this process.
