pop forwarding option not being remembered?
all,
my sister has just joined sky and asked me to set up outlook (2003) for her. this i successfully did following some of the advice here.
however, in the last couple of days, she's not receiving email. i went back to the web client and checked that the pop forwarding option was set (it was) but still she could not receive email into outlook. interestingly, there were emails in her web inbox. i selected the pop forwarding option again and suddenly outlook started to download them. i then sent a few test messages and again, they seemed to just stack up in the web client. again i reselected 'pop forwarding' and again they were delivered to outlook.
so it would seem that there's no problem with her outlook settings (new pop and smtp server used, correct ssl ports etc) but rather that the web client is 'forgetting' to forward to the pop client???
anyone else seen this??
thanks.

Re: pop forwarding option not being remembered?
I'm probably stating the obvious but is your sister hitting 'Save changes' after setting up the forwarding option ?
Has your sister tried setting it up via the Pop Download option instead ?

Re: pop forwarding option not being remembered?
You can't send test messages to yourself and receive them in outlook. The webmail system assumes that you do not want messages from yourself. When you hit the Forwarding option again it resets and will download any messages in the inbox - but if you then send another test message it will just sit in the webmail inbox.
Can't explain why other emails would be stuck in there though!.
